Bhavana R. Kapur is a Singapore-based artist whose creative journey began in the world of architecture and interior design. After spending more than a decade in the design industry, she gradually returned to her long-standing passion for fine art, allowing art to become a more central part of her life and creative expression.
Her artistic journey continued through studies in London and further training at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore. Through these studies and mentorships with established artists, she deepened her understanding of realism, painterly techniques, and visual and compositional structure.
Her background as an architect strongly influences her artistic approach. Concepts such as balance, structure, rhythm, and visual harmony play an important role in her paintings, shaping the way elements come together on the canvas. At the same time, painting offers her a freedom beyond the discipline of architectural design—an opportunity to explore intuition, emotion, and imagination.
Bhavana is inspired by subjects that awaken her senses and draw her naturally to the canvas—moments, scenes, and emotions that spark curiosity and imagination. Some of her paintings explore deeper emotional themes, while others celebrate the simple beauty of everyday life. What ties her work together is a sense of discovery and a desire to capture the essence of a moment through color, texture, and expressive brushwork.
For Bhavana, art is a continuous journey of exploration and growth. Each painting becomes an opportunity to experiment, challenge herself creatively, and connect more deeply with her subject. Through her work, she hopes to reveal the beauty that exists around us and encourage viewers to pause, reflect, and see the world with fresh eyes.
