Asawari Wadekar
Asawari Wadekar is a contemporary Indian artist, currently living in Singapore. Asawari holds a Master's degree in Fine Art from SNDT University, India and has been painting for over three decades.
Having lived in different countries, her works are influenced by her travels yet connected to her roots.
Her painting style varies between concrete and conceptual to suit the subject matter. Acrylics and oils have been her preferred mediums to work with. Moving away from the concrete style, her current works capture the various moods of nature in an abstract manner. The use of knife work and mixed materials lends a textural quality to her works, while swirling brush strokes add movement. Her artworks can be recognized by their rich colours with a flow and texture suitable for her theme. She likes to create cheerful paintings and hopes to spread positive vibes through her art.
She has participated in many shows, international art fairs and open studio tours in the countries she has lived in.
